A Day at Cockatoo Island

Cockatoo Island is a UNESCO world-heritage-listed island in the middle of beautiful Sydney Harbour.

We visited Cockatoo Island for the first time during the September holiday when my brother came to visit us. There are regular services every day of the week via Harbour City Ferries. Best day to go is on a Sunday as you can travel all of Sunday on trains, buses, ferries and light rail capped at $2.60 each person.

Great place for kids to explore and learn the history of Cockatoo Island. Joining one of the free events like the Convict Clues Challenge or the Ship Shape Challenge. Check more information at http://www.cockatooisland.gov.au/whats/kids-activities
